The Back Up Plan

The Back Up Plan is definately in my top 3. Whenever I have girlfriends over they always request that we watch this so I must’ve seen it at least 20 times. I love the humour, the eye candy and of course Jennifer Lopez.

Alex O’Loughlin is relatively new on the chick flick scene and boy have we been missing him. He has a seriously hot body and his comedic timing is impeccable.

So when you go buy this DVD, I also recommend that you also get the soundtrack. I think ‘What is Love’ by Jennifer Lopez is my favourite, a great track to bop around the kitchen too.

I look forward to any challengers to try and knock this off my top spot!

Legally Blonde

There’s nothing I love better than a dumb blonde with Daddy’s plastic

This is without a doubt the most iconic chick flick of all time, in my opinion anyway!  Reese Witherspoon has created such a loveable and hilarious character. I’m pretty sure every girl across the globe knows (and possibly uses haha) the Bend and Snap.

There are so many funny one liners that’ll have you in stitches!!

[Elle is presiding at her sorority meeting
Elle: It has come to my attention that the maintenance staff is switching our toilet paper from Charmin… to generic. All those opposed to chafing, please say “Aye”.
Entire Sorority Group: Aye.

Brooke: Are you one of my lawyers?
Elle: Sort of.
Brooke: Well thank God one of you has a brain.

The whole film is just so hilarious and really really cheers you up when your feeling a bit down. And if that doesn’t do it then there is always Legally Blonde 2!!

Four Weddings and a Funeral

I’ve seen this film like a million times and will always remember how excited my parents were when they introduced me to it. There is so much to take in in this film it takes you on so many emotions. Hugh Grant is such a sweetie and I always enjoy his struggle to end up with Julia Roberts.

I am guaranteed to cry every single time during the speech at the funeral. I love all the nice things he says about Gareth. The poem is actually among the ones in my collection.

Funeral Blues
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead.
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

W.H. Auden

For what could seem more harmless, more inoccent than chocolat!!

I first discovered this film when my figure skating instructor chose the theme tune as music for my new routine. I was totally captivated by the music and it’s probably the my favourite part of the whole film. I love the individuality and spirit of the mother and daughter. The way she is able to change the whole little town’s attitude just by her special chocolate shop.

This film is so deeply seductive with a mixture of Chocolat and Jonny Depp. It’s great film to enjoy accompanied with your own big bar of your favourite chocolate.

17 Again

My sister and I had a girlie night out last night, we went to oggle at the gorgeous Zac Efron. The story line was pretty similar to Freaky Friday but it was actually quite funny.

It did take a while to get into it but once it got going we did have a bit of a chuckle at it. Plus I couldn’t quite get over how old Matt LeBlanc looked. Only if you’ve seen everything else on at the cinema would I recommend it. Most definitely aimed at younger girls.

How To Loose A Guy In 10 Days

What a day,I was in definite need of some film therapy this evening. How To Loose A Guy In 10 Days was perfect for that. Kate Hudson is probably one of my favourite actresses and she is utterly hilarious in this film. Mixed with eye candy Matthew McConaughey you’re on to a winner. I find that some chick flicks are just pure romance but I think this is one of the few films that successfully combines comedy and romance.

The makers of the film have got the craziness of women in relationships just right. This film clip is from my favourite scene in the movie, it’s just so cringey. Do women actually do this to wind up men??

Now for you hardcore chick flick fans you can actually buy the dress that Kate Hudson wears in the film. It’s only $300, a bargain really but sadly I’m still saving!

Have a look…

Bruce Almighty

I’m a big fan  of Jennifer Aniston and can never fault anything she does and Bruce Almighty is no exception. Both Jennifer and Jim Carrey work so well together and their sex scene together is hilarious.

Any good chick flick has to have a good life lesson and Bruce Almighty certainly delivers that. It makes you think that you should not take anything for granted. It’s a perfect film for snuggling up to on a cold Friday night.
